VA-75 "Sunday Punchers" was one of the U.S. Navy’s most storied attack squadrons, known for their service from World War II, through to the Gulf War. The squadron became closely associated with the A-6 Intruder, a twin-engine, all-weather attack aircraft introduced in the 1960s. The A-6 was capable of flying low-altitude bombing missions with pinpoint accuracy, even in poor visibility, making it a vital asset during the Vietnam War and later conflicts. VA-75 "Sunday Punchers" were the first fleet squadron to operate the A-6 Intruder and the last unit to fly it in operational service.
